Laughing!

I love laughing it is the best! I have laughed a lot this week! Brother the Shark is full of jokes many of them aren't very funny but some of them have us all on the floor laughing and it's great! Often those ones weren't meant to be funny! But I have also laughed with my girlfriends (I like to call them my girlies) so much, it is great to have friends that you can just laugh for hours with
This week was ballroom dancing and we learned to do some cool tango steps. One of them I have known for a while and the other I still haven't gotten (it is hard okay :P).  My feet are still sore from dancing!
We undertook a big project this week, well it's been going slowly since last Sunday, we are trimming our hedge which really means we are cutting down the trees that have grown up in the hedge. It is kind of sad the trees have strangled the inner hedge so right now it looks like a dead bush:( but really that's okay cause it was going to look like that in a couple of weeks anyway when fall truly sets in. We have a giant pile of sticks but mostly leaves in our drive way that everybody is really enjoying jumping on, it is like a trampoline. I claim that brilliant idea but I stepped in a gofer hole shortly after I discovered that it worked and twisted my ankle pretty badly so now I am sad and I can't jump on it . On Wednesday my gramp is going to come and help trim our gorgeous maple tree and haul away the sticks hopefully my ankle is all the way better then because I really enjoy yard work! Call me crazy if you want but I think it's fun!
At church last Sunday we had our first day of Sunday school and we planted grass seed because most of it got killed last summer when it didn't rain at all. My godmother is teaching our class this year she is also our Presvytera (the priests wife) and she taught for many years so it is very fun but we also learn a lot.
I read a really good book this week, I really enjoyed it! It was ketchup week so I had time to read, I haven't read a fun book since school started now I need to find one to read for mustard week.
At this point you might be very confused about what I mean by ketchup and mustard week, so I will explain! In stead of doing quarters at our house we have school split up into 6 sections with each section having 7 weeks. The first 5 weeks we have school normally, the 6th week we have a catch up week, and the 7th is a vacation week. One of my silly friends thought that we were talking about ketchup like you eat with burgers so she asked if the next week was mustard week and I loved it and started calling it that and it stuck hence ketchup and mustard week!

This week=crazy

So this week has been pretty uneventful! I am crazy busy and it really hit me yesterday! Being busy on top of being sick is kinda stressful but life goes on! Mondays have worked out to be our town days, so I have chem at the public hs from 8:30 to 10:03 and then we leave the house at 1:15 and we won't be home till at least 9 but it is really nice to have a day away from most of my family every once and a while.
I am super excited for our homeschool HOSA chapter to have its first meeting! On October 6-7 some of us from our chapter are going to a leadership conference in rapid! I am really looking forward to it and we are going to see crazy horse which I have never seen even though have been to the Black Hills 4 or 5 times I have never seen crazy horse!
I am also looking forward to our first quizbowl that is on of my favorite activities ever! I think this will be my 6th year in it and I am still excited!
Halloween is still 1 1/2 months away but I already have my costume planned! I am going to be Clara the doctors current companion.
We'll have to see how accurate a costume I can find but I already have a hat it isn't the same but it is TARDIS blue so who really cares! see? there it is its not the best pic ever but I like it!
For anybody who is wondering that is my monkey "Totes Bro"! he is amazing but don't let anybody tell you his name is George I have now officially changed it :P
Video Chatting is now one of my favorite things ever! I love it! It is a great way to talk to my friends who are far away (yeah and by that I mean half an hour ;) ) Also we kinda enjoy taking pictures of us doing weird things! we only took about 20!
That is about all I have to say!

This week!

So this week has been kinda hard! I have had lots of things to think about, lots of homework, deep cleaned half of the basement, babysat, worked at the booth for our church making/serving/eating yummy Greek food, and had a picnic and a walk on our favorite trail, a lot of stress and a lot of fun!
I don't think that before this week I realized how hard it is to have friends! It might take me three years to get over it :P but seriously it is very hard to listen to people and understand them even people you know super well! But I also realized how important my friends are to me and how much I really want to be able to solve all their problems even though I know that I can't! This morning at Divine Liturgy (equivalent to the Mass) I think I sorted out what I can really manage and what things I just have to let go and let God fix.
I am also convinced that technology hates me! So engineer sister and I bought a nice phone that just wouldn't work! I think my mom finally found the right customer service number because they were so helpful and I am getting the new NOT broken part shipped to me free!
Today was the feast of The Nativity of The Most Holy Theotokos (the orthodox name for Mary it literally means God bearer) she brought joy to her parents the Righteous Joachim and Anna and the whole world as every child should! It is a wonderful feast day and the liturgy was truly beautiful!

Welcome

So I finally just went ahead and did it! I have been thinking about starting a blog for a while, a place were I can express some of my thoughts in writing! As well as sharing my amazing and spectacular friends and some of our silliness. Lots of things are very important to me but high up there is my faith, my family, my friends, my education, and ending up doing something in the medical field.
So my faith, well not many people have heard of Orthodox Chritianity and if they have they carry a lot of misconceptions. This saddens me because the orthodoxy is so rich and beautiful! I am no expert but I will try to answer a few things that people often ask when I tell them I am an Orthodox Christian. Probably the number one question is are you Greek Orthodox or Russian Orthodox? People think that these are two separate churches, but they are not we all beleive the same things, because of the distance they have both developed traditions that are different from each other. I like to think about it like a board game where every family has there own house rules but the families are still playing the same game, but with additions that make it more fun! And the traditions that have been developed are truly beautiful and add much to the experience of being an Orthodox Christian. Another question I get asked a lot is are you that different from the Catholic's and the answer is...  well there just isn't a yes or no answer it can be said sort of like this: we are similar but we do have some different beliefs and some that are the same and we both have an individual identity.
My large argumentative crazy family is so much fun! But man can they drive me crazy! My littlest brother (Badness) can be sweet cuddly and hysterical! He is the best to have inside jokes with and he can make you laugh when you really need it! Sister the younger drives me insane like no other person ever! She is the drama queen and the tomboy of the family! Brother Bean is the sweetest of us all as long as he has had enough sleep! He is also very creative with Legos forever building new spaceships and hovercraft! Brother the Shark is very funny! His best jokes are when he didn't mean to be funny! He loves hanging out with his friends and the fact that he completely lost his voice this weekend when he was with them all weekend says a lot about him. Engineer sister is the oldest and also my twin, we have a kind of deal I keep our room cleanish and she fixes thing when they brake and always tells me where the tools are if I need them, okay we have a much deeper relationship than that but it is hard describe! Some days I forget she is my sister and she really is just my best friend, and other days there isn't anybody I would rather see less and she shares a room with me :P we often get asked do you like being twins and we say we don't know anything else so we don't know! I do know that she can always tell when I am upset, when she isn't there I look for her and start talking to her and then remember she is elsewhere, she knows all my secrets, my worries, my ambitions, and we can say anything to each other! She is my best friend and I love her!
How have I gotten this far in my post and not mentioned that my mom homeschools all 6 of us! I really don't know how she does it! She has a full time job teaching us and still has time to be our mom! She also teaches a great books lit class a logic class and a shakespeare class! Every summer she directs a full shakespeare play starring the homeschool teenagers! It is one of the best weeks off the year! My brothers still say "best mom/dad ever" before bed and   it's so true it makes me smile when ever they say it! My dad manages two  stores, he is a very easy going person but sometimes he gets very firm with his  employes and they always seem surprised! He and I always laugh about that, how do they think he can live with six kids?
I have the best friend group ever and I am actually friends with everyone of them which is really amazing they aren't just people I hang out with. They make me laugh and cry and love them more all the time! We love to dance, ballroom  and free style, arguing over pointless things, some of us love Dr Who, others  just say "RUN" when ever it comes up ;) oh and laughing, we love laughing!
Getting a good education is very important to me because of where I want to be when I am an adult with a job and just because I really love learning! Some subjects are harder for me to enjoy because they challenge me more but once I "get" the idea or problem it makes me SO excited and proud of myself. I want to be a medical professional when I "grow up" because I enjoy being able to help people, taking care of them, and I find the sciences very interesting!
So this is me! It took along time for me to write but I am happy that I did! I hope that this is something I continue to do. And congrats if you made it all the way through that! Now you really know me even if you thought you did before!
